At this point in the wedding, we already photographed many of the day's events such as the couples on-site ceremony, their traditional family portraits, fun bridal party photos of the bridesmaids and groomsmen as well as creative images of the bride and groom together.
During the reception, which was held in the Camelot room, at The Swan Club, I wanted to take some creative night time images for our couple.
Candid Photo in the Rain
We noticed it was raining, and I knew exactly what type of image I could create for them that would stand out in their wedding album.
I used off-camera flash to back light the raindrops and used LED to illuminate the bride and groom. I asked them to kiss, and this is the image that I was able to produce for them.

When we talked to the newlyweds, they told us they liked a mix of light and airy wedding photos as well as some creative images. I took many light and airy images of the bride and groom during their first look, ceremony, first dance, and parent dances. But I knew I needed to also take some creative wedding photos to compliment these images for them.
After this creative night time portrait was taken, I had the couple hold hands and walk towards the camera, which made a great video shot.
When I showed the newlyweds their wedding gallery in our office, they were wowed and said they have never seen anything like this before.
