In this photo taken at The Inn at New Hyde Park, we are using the water fountain as a foreground element, leading us to the bride and groom. They are having a candid moment for themselves. Of course, this is a posed wedding photo, but it feels candid, and most importantly, the bride has a genuine, real expression.
I love the way the sun is creating a rim light on the couple's heads, separating them from the background. That rim light, coupled with the dark background as well as the water fountain creates a beautiful three-dimensional photo that leaps off the page. All of these cool photography tricks mean nothing if coupled with the real emotion that was captured.
