Have You Found the Perfect Wedding Dress?
It seems that the vast majority of the time, it's not about finding a wedding dress, but about finding the "perfect" wedding dress. The word "perfect" can mean many different things to different brides-to-be, but you know what it means to you, and you know when you've found it.
In your heart, you know there can't be an ideal wedding without the perfect dress. This is true if you've had the picture in your mind since you were little, you are wearing a dress that's been passed down through generations, or you are starting from scratch. Your journey may be filled with ups and downs, a range of designs, and multiple fittings, but once you find "the dress," it will all be worth it.
Will You Have One Dress or Two?
Many new brides love the idea of having two dresses: one for the ceremony and one for the reception. Naturally, there needs to be room in the budget, but having two dresses allows you to show your sense of style and personality in two different settings. In a two-dress scenario, the wedding dress is typically more formal, and the reception dress more casual, but you can customize any way you'd like.
Don't be Forced to Choose a Specific Dress
One good piece of advice is to make sure your dress fits your personality. It's so common for brides to get sidetracked and focus on issues other than themselves, but you should always remember this is your day. Don't allow yourself to be forced to wear a dress that isn't right for you. Take a stand and wear the dress you want to wear on your special day.
How Long Will It Take to Get Your Wedding Dress?
After you have gone through the process and found the dress you love, you still have to wait to get your hands on it. Depending on the type of dress, whether it is custom made and have it made, you may end up waiting up to nine months to get it.
No one needs to tell you that if your wedding is in eight months and you have to wait for nine months for the dress, there will be a big problem. Since the dress is such an important component and highlight of your wedding, do yourself a huge favor and find out how long it will take far in advance.
And once you get that estimate, add another month or so on to be safe. You may need some alterations made or adjustments to make it perfect, and the last thing you want is to add unnecessary stress as the big day approaches.
