Over the past year, we have had the privilege of photographing dozens of weddings at the Mansion at Oyster Bay.
The image above was captured right after the bride and groom's first reveal. I wanted to show off The Mansion at Oyster Bay's beautiful grounds but also get a romantic photo of the couple.
Personally, I prefer a more natural and relaxed approach when photographing newlyweds. In this image, I asked the couple to stand in between the doorway and kiss. This helped them forget they were being photographed and gave this image a more candid feel.
I underexposed the background slightly and added a little bit of fill light to show off the bride's wedding dress and the groom's tux. This photography technique makes the image more dynamic, while keeping it subtle.
